Grade 8.8 Bolt is a high tensile fastener used in load and stressing applications. This material has good strength corrosion resistance and good wear and tear properties. The standard specification for these bolts is the ASTM A324. The High Tensile Grade 8.8 Bolts come in dimensions ranging from ¾ inches to 3 ½ inches in diameter. This is equivalent to the M20 to M100 in metric scale. The En 15048 Bolt can come in different types such as machine bolts, hex head bolts, socket head cap screws, dowel pins, allen bolts and others.There are also nuts and washers in this range.
The fasteners could be coated with different materials such as the 8.8 Galvanised Bolts. The coating provides extra corrosion resistance and wear tear resistance to the fasteners. One of the most used coating is the PTFE coating which avoids the fasteners to be in direct contact with corrosive agents in the environment. Hot dip galvanized, plain and zinc plated types are some of the other coating types.
The 8.8 Stainless Steel Bolts are used in structural applications such as construction, engineering, machines, automobile and in other high strength applications. The 8.8 High Tensile Bolts are preferred in applications where more permanent and robust connections are made. The price of these high tensile bolts are expensive than the ordinary fasteners but they have higher mechanical purposes to suit the need of the applications.
