MSS SP 44 Flanges

MSS SP 44 Flanges are made under the MSS SP 44 standard which covers the pressure, temperature, dimensional and material requirements of the flanges. The standard also covers material grades of F36, F46, F48 and up to F80 which are of high yield materials. The MssSp 44 Class 150 Flanges have low pressure capacities. The pressure capacities of the flanges can range from class 150 to class 2500 corresponding to 150lbs to 2500lbs of pressure. There are different types of flanges such as the Mss-Sp-44 Weld Neck Flange, slip on flange, expander flange, blind flange, square flange and others. Each different type of flange serves a different purpose.

The flanges come in raised face, flat face and ring type joint face types. The flanges can also be manufactured as forged, threaded, screwed or plate flange. The nominal size of the flanges range from DN300 to DIN 1500 or NPS12 to 60. The material grades used for the making of the MSS SP 44 Class 150 Expander Flanges and other types include carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, copper, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, niobium and boron in the composition. The MSS SP 44 Blind Flanges are used at the ends of pipes to close the flow. The materials used also have to have specific strength values. The F36 material has a minimum yield strength of 248MPa and the F80 material has 550MPa minimum yield strength. They also have 414MPa and 620MPa tensile strengths respectively. There are different types such as the MSS SP 44 Cl 150 Square Flanges and others which are used in high strength applications such as ship building, hydraulics, power generation, heat exchanger and in boiler grade applications
