Stainless Steel Square Nuts are also known as four sided nuts. These nuts range from ¼ inches to 24 inches in size. They are made up of different material grades such as 18-8 stainless steel, A2, A4 and other high tensile materials. The sizes can be metric or imperial. The M6 Square Nut is a metric nut that is used in applications such as hardware, automobile, petrochemical, oil and gas, general engineering applications and in constructions. There are different standards to cover the dimensions such as the DIN 557 Square Nut, DIN 934, DIN 982, DIN 936 and others.

M6 Square Nut
The nuts could be made of cold forging, hot forging or through machining. The different production methods made different sizes of the nuts. There are Heavy Square Nuts which are meant for heavier load bearing applications. They have high tensile strengths as well. These can range from M2 through M160 sizes in the metric scale. The different material types used differ for the high tensile nuts. The length of the nuts ranges from 3mm to 200mm. The M8 Square Nuts are made up of 316 austenitic stainless steel which has high corrosion resistance against chloride ion. The nuts also have high tensile strengths and high operating temperatures up to 870 degrees Celsius. Depending on the application requirements, different types of coatings are available for the SS Square Nut as well. There are hot dip galvanized, nickel coated, zinc coated and PTFE coated types available. The coatings provide extra corrosion resistance, wear and tear resistance and long life for the nuts.
